
WHAT IS THE TOEFL TEST?
TOEFL, or Exam of English as a Foreign Language, is an English proficiency test used to assess a candidate's ability to speak and comprehend English. TOEFL is recognised as proof of English competence at 9,000 colleges, universities, and organisations worldwide, as well as other TOEFL participating establishments. TOEFL is administered more than 50 times each year by Educational Testing Service (ETS), a non-profit organisation located in the United States.

TOEFL test pattern:
TOEFL has two versions: TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) and TOEFL PBT (paper-based test) (paper-based test). TOEFL has four portions in both versions: reading, speaking, listening, and writing. The test takes around 4 hours to complete. Candidates may repeat the TOEFL test an unlimited number of times.
